This week I wanted to present some webdesign inspiration that brings something refreshing. Not only because of the design or ux value offered, but more because of the subject the websites put in front of us. They don’t have a gap between the environment and the story, which makes them special websites.
There are so many websites out there, that present and want to sell you something, that makes you lose count. But in that rumble there are some that grab your attention and show you something different. So, instead of telling you what makes them special, why not just let you see for yourself. Enjoy!
82nd & Fifth
In this episodic series from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, 100 curators will talk about 100 works of art that changed the way they see the world throughout 2013. Each episode is paired with an interactive feature.
31 days of Oscar
Behind every great movie, is a great studio.TCM’s 31 Days of Oscar website allows viewers to browse content from Oscar nominated and winning films as they explore the studios that made them via an interactive schedule for mobile and desktop.
Drexel University
“Get going today” is a sensory tour de force that presents the uplifting life stories of Drexel alumni using video, sound design, hardware-accelerated animation (inspired by cinemagraphs), and a subtle understanding of the language of social media.
Life of pi journey
Enter the majestic world of Life of Pi and discover how this visual wonder came to life. An interesting website that brings the audience behind the camera and show how everything came together with the help of the parallax effect.
Really Open
Come live an immersive experience and become aware of your opening. I find this website interesting because of the subject presented and the user experience offered with this touchpoint.
Faithful I remain
The Faithful I Remain website captures authentic and unique testimonies from witnesses of Palach’s sacrifice and presents fascinating stories from people who were inescapably affected by political trials, Soviet occupation and the subsequent “normalization”.
Edita’s Casting
“Edita’s Casting” – a casting agency with a great photo and video database of actors, dancers, interesting and beautiful people, seniors and children.
Far from the tree
In Far from the Tree, Andrew Solomon tells the stories of parents who not only learn to deal with their exceptional children but also find profound meaning in doing so. Solomon’s startling proposition is that diversity is what unites us all.The website is a well structured touchpoint that gives us a look inside the book of Andrew Solomon. The design, the simple and easy navigation, the video presentations of the book are a really nice touch.
Side Effects
Side Effects is a provocative thriller about Emily and Martin, a successful New York couple whose world unravels when a new drug prescribed by Emily’s psychiatrist – intended to treat anxiety – has unexpected side effects.
It is an interesting website just because of how it is structured. You do not see websites that promote movies with this much attention to detail, I love it!
